The Technical Lead will lead a team comprised of cross functional engineers to build and maintain SCA software systems while also helping drive engineering excellence across all aspects of his/her engineering team. They will provide key technical leadership in the team's ongoing architectural evolution, development, and maintenance of the core SCA enterprise applications.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about building delightful customer experience products in a highly scalable, reliable, and secure manner, leveraging agile principles and values, test driven development and continuous integration and deployment. We are looking for a solid business and technical problem solver, with a deep understanding of UI/UX design principles, cloud-native technologies, and scalable enterprise architectures.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Technical Lead will have a broad set of responsibilities including the following:
  • Partner with the Product Manager to develop and maintain a technically feasible product roadmap, develop solutions for business problems, and meet and/or exceed product roadmap delivery schedules
  • Work with the Product Manager to scope, design, define, measure, and iteratively deliver innovative experiences to SCA customers
  • Lead large software projects from ideation to execution
  • Build complex, responsive, modern, and consistent web applications
  • Improve team adherence to coding best practices, test coverage, secure coding techniques, product knowledge, architecture design, and technologies
  • Help coach and mentor young engineers technically to prepare them for the next stage in their career
  • Play a critical role in the architecture, design, development, and technical decision making of applications in scope
  • Write well-designed, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Participate in and lead code review sessions to maintain code quality and distribute knowledge
  • Ensure application releases occur regularly, timely and with high quality
  • Build trusting relationships and collaborate within and across all internal teams
  • Encourage a highly communicative culture that ensures open, transparent, and consistent exchange with key stakeholders
  • Play active role in continuous improvement of our lean product-oriented development and delivery processes
  • Champion agile best practices around continuous integration, test-driven development, and continuous deployment
  • Perform periodic on-call support for after-hours deployment/maintenance windows
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in:
    • Microsoft stack technologies (.NET, .NET CORE, C#, Visual Studio, Entity Framework, SQL Server)
    • jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    • Angular, React
    • Azure cloud technologies (Functions, Batch, Storage, Key Vault, etc.) or similar
    • Azure DevOps
    • DevOps practices
  • 2+ years of proven success as a Technical Leader on a software team leading the building and delivery of software from ideation to delivery to support
  • Experience with agile best practices and related methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
  • Experience with transactional databases and caching systems
  • Experience with test-driven development (unit and integration testing) and continuous integration
  • Experience with and understanding of best practices in building public, internal APIs, and integration frameworks
  • Experience with scalable, distributed systems using microservices and event-driven architecture
  • Experience with performance tuning production architecture
  • Solid knowledge and experience building component-based, responsive web applications with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (Angular, React etc.), HTML, CSS
  • Understanding of software security best practices
  • Understanding of design system implementations
  • Solid technical background in enterprise software development, preferably in HealthCare
  • Self-led, capable of working with little direction
  • Skilled communicator with a collaborative spirit
  • Proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
