Job DescriptionJob Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at SEEK, you'll play a key role in building scalable, reliable software that delivers a positive experience for our users across APAC. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional team, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, mentor others, and drive engineering excellence across the organisation.
The Role
- Design, build, test, deploy and maintain cloud-first (AWS) software solutions.
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across SEEK’s platforms.
- Strengthen engineering best practices, DevOps culture, and secure coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers and Data Engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring platform health.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, supporting onboarding and professional growth.
- Contribute to SEEK’s communities of practice and continuous improvement culture.
So, what we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with exposure to large-scale, cloud-native systems.
- Proficiency in two or more modern programming languages and API development.
- Experience with AWS, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring tools.
- Strong grasp of secure coding practices, TDD/BDD, and modern engineering patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor others and uplift team technical capability.
- Great communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with a “can-do” mindset.
