Software Engineer – SABRE2 Team

Description: 

SABRE2 is the software development toolchain at the heart of Sabre’s tech transformation and desire to adopt a more agile, global, and cloud-centric engineering mindset. 

All aspects of the SABRE2 software creation process work in concert to deliver committed code to production frequently, safely, securely, and in a repeatable, predictable fashion. 

SABRE2 advances our engineering culture and capability by: 

·       Removing app silos, empowering engineers, and increasing global mentorship and collaboration 

·       Unlocking greater reuse of libraries, services, and deployment patterns 

·       Enabling true continuous delivery 

·       Making frequent large-scale changes practical 

At its core, SABRE2 is a monorepo and the tooling the surrounds it.  

Responsibilities 

·       Building our platform for developing and deploying applications in the Cloud  

·       Training other teams to run their products using our Platform, 
Acting as a technical consultant and advocate for the SABRE2 

·       Participating in the Open Source products evaluation, analysis, configuration according to the Sabre requirements 

·       Utilizing Agile to deliver high-quality, reactive solutions, with a keen eye for scalability and reliability 

·       Applying fundamental skills, concepts, and practices to solve difficult assignments 
  

Job Requirements 

·       Relevant professional experience

·       Knowledge/experience with containerization-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes / GKE 

·       Knowledge/experience with scripting capabilities (Bash) 

·       Familiarity with Cloud Native Applications design patterns and best practices 

·       Knowledge/Experience in Continuous Integration (e.g. Maven), Continuous Delivery (e.g. GitHub Actions/ Pipelines) 

·       Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus / Grafana stack.

·       Agile and DevOps culture 

·       Positive attitude, attention to detail, a team player, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic 

·       Good English communication skills

Additional assets: 

·       IaaS / SaaS platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure. 

·       Python/Go programming language 

·       Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible, Terraform) 

·      K8S Operators (K8S APIs, CRDs, etc.) 

·       Experience in exposing and consuming REST, GRPC services 

·       Contribution to open source projects 

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

·       Passionate about learning new technologies and improving existing systems.
