JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer
SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810
LOCATION: Leeds
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Leeds office
About this opportunity
We are looking for a motivated full stack engineer to join a brand-new feature team dedicated to building a brand-new digital stockbroking platform from the ground up.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of online trading by designing and implementing a streamlined, customer and colleague focussed platform that will redefine how our customers invest.
In this role you will –
- Join the Stockbroking Lab's engineering team and work on a large ground-breaking greenfield development.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, architects, and other key stakeholders to deliver features and functionality.
- Take ownership of your own development, skills and career growth.
- Drive the culture of delivering highly resilient, secure and quality software.
- Drive adoption of best engineering practices.

What you’ll need
Previous experience in:
- Developing high quality, testable, re-usable and modular code with a range of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Java and related API frameworks and Kafka.
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and experience with cloud platforms such as GCP.
- Integrating RESTful APIs into dynamic and data driven front ends with ReactJS.
- GIT, source code management and managing concurrent change on a large code base.
- Automation and CI/CD across the SDLC using Harness.
- Working with large-scale applications where high performance and low latency is a must
- Using distributed systems, asynchronous programming techniques and event driven architectures.
- Cloud native solutions and integration with SaaS solutions via APIs.
And any experience of these would be really useful
- C#, .NET and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Delivering software solutions in financial services (particularly trading/investments or wealth)
- Delivering large scale data migrations (500k+ customers)
- Certifications in any of the above technologies
