Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL 61630.
Job Description: Contribute to strategic enhancements in HCL commerce of new and existing global ecommerce sites used by Caterpillar dealerships and end customers. Contribute to the design, development, code review and deployment of Caterpillar's global ecommerce sites. Understand business requirements for new features implemented within the ecommerce platform (parts.cat.com and shop.cat.com) and work with business and business analysts to gather and refine business requirements and to recommend changes which could create business impact. Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. Prepare technical design documents based on business requirements. Design and build new features on HCL commerce leveraging out of the box components as well as extending/customizing where necessary to meet business needs. Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution. Lead development & unit/integration testing of new features for the scrum team. Perform code reviews, performance assessments, and architecture discussions. Ensure team's overall code quality and velocity. Support QA team for every release's quality assurance as a representative from the development team and fix issues that arise from testing. For newly released features, work with the support team to address critical production issues in a timely fashion. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more ecommerce applications or systems. Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features. Mentor and assist software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices.
REQS : This position requires a Bachelor's, degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus Eight (8) years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 8 years of experience with HCL Commerce (previously WCS) software engineering; (2) 1 year of experience with Spring Boot; (3) 5 years of experience with leading other software engineers/developers; (4) 5 years of experience with building applications using Java J2EE; and (5) 1 year of experience using Oracle. Telecommuting: 100% Telecommuting Permitted.
Rate of pay: $173, 846.00-$173, 846.00 per year.
