What we need  

As a Senior Software Engineer with a background in Java Developer and PL/SQL you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. This role involves developing Java based applications and leveraging PL/SQL  for database management and integration. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions and enhance our software applications.

GreenBox is pioneering warehousing-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across all sectors, such as wholesale, retail, and general merchandising.

What you’ll do 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.  

  • Design and implement complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to support business applications.  

  • Develop and maintain database schemas, including tables, views, indexes, and constraints.  

  • Integrate Java applications with Oracle databases and other systems.  

  • Work with APIs and web services to connect Java applications with external systems.  

  • Collaborate with other developers to integrate PL/SQL procedures with Java applications, ensuring smooth data exchange and functionality.  

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.  

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues as they arise.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of PL/SQL code and SQL queries. Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.  

  • Document technical specifications, designs, and implementation details.  

  • Develop and execute test cases to validate the functionality and performance of database and application components.  

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.  

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experiencein development of Java based applications with strong background in PL/SQL.  

  • Strong proficiency in Java SE/EE and object-oriented programming.  

  • Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, including writing complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.  

  • Proven experience as a Java Developer with a solid understanding of Java programming concepts and best practices  

  • Experience with Oracle Database (e.g., Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, or 19c and higher).  

  • Familiarity with Java build tools (e.g., Maven, Ant).  

  • Experience with web application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, WebLogic).  

  • Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services.

  • Experience with source control software such as GIT, WinCVS. 

  • This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and support unscheduled events.  

  • This person must be a self-starter and highly motivated.  

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). 

  • Experience with PHP, Python is a plus.  

  • Experience with Warehouse Management systems is a plus.  

 

Our Environment 

  • Up to 25% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
