Experience working in cloud-native environments using Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, CI/CD, with a focus on performance, reliability, and clean code practices.

Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will support the development of elegant, performant, maintainable, operable and secure Golang microservices. You will help design and architect our systems, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in making the engineering team the best it can be.

Projects You Will Contribute To

·   Building our vision of a connected platform that integrates seamlessly with best-in-class apps, tools and services.

·   Connecting the financial world for customers by bringing together account and transactional data that enables better financial decisions.

·   Developing spend analytics, insights and recommendations powered by data and machine learning.

·   Building a financial product marketplace, including credit, savings and other products designed to improve customers’ financial lives.

Current Technology Stack

·   Languages: Golang; PHP is a bonus

·   Messaging: Kafka and RabbitMQ

·   Data: Event-driven architecture, Snowplow and Python for ETL

·   Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB and BigQuery

·   DevOps culture: TDD, BDD, Scrum, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS

What You Will Be Doing

·   Delivering clean, architecturally sound and maintainable server-side code; full-stack experience is a bonus.

·   Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to build, measure and learn while creating a world-class product.

·   Partnering with product and engineering managers to continuously refine and iterate development processes.

·   Motivating the team through roadblocks to ensure features ship as effectively as possible.

·   Guiding design discussions and helping the team balance flexibility, expediency, scalability and performance.

·   Championing new technologies and promoting strong development practices.

·   Keeping an eye on the future while proactively and pragmatically tackling technical debt.

What You Will Bring

·   In-depth knowledge of Golang; PHP experience is a plus.

·   Experience building microservices, ideally deployed in containers on Kubernetes.

·   A solid grounding in agile development practices.

·   Experience with both relational and NoSQL datastores.

·   Experience with real-time, low-latency, high-frequency transaction-based systems is a bonus.

·   The ability to diagnose problems across the stack, including client, HTTP/network, server, database and operating system, with sound rationale for decisions.

·   Proven experience building large, concurrent and distributed applications.

·   Experience developing and running large-scale production environments in partnership with DevOps or SRE teams.

·   Experience with event-driven architectures is a bonus.

·   A genuine interest in working in a fast-paced start-up environment, ideally in fintech or payments.

·   Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers is a bonus for L5.

·   A strong appetite for learning and continuous improvement.
