Job Description SummaryResponsible for the design, development, verification, and maintenance of software solutions that enable safe and effective operation of Computed Tomography (CT) imaging systems. Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Clinical Applications, Product Owners, Software Architects, Verification & Validation teams, and global development teams to translate customer, clinical, and workflow requirements into high quality software solutions.
Design, develop, debug, test, and sustain software components across Scanner Desktop, operator workflow, system integration, and related platform services. Participate in architecture discussions, feature design, requirements analysis, impact assessments, code reviews, and technical problem solving. Investigate customer reported issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements decomposition, design documentation, implementation, automated testing, verification, release readiness, and post release support. Ensure compliance with medical device software development processes and standards, including traceability, risk management, software FMEA, cybersecurity, and quality system requirements.
Drive engineering excellence through Agile and Lean practices, continuous integration, test automation, code quality improvements, and effective use of modern software development tools and AI enabled productivity solutions. Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to a collaborative, innovative, and customer focused engineering culture.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, verify, and maintain software solutions for Computed Tomography (CT) imaging systems, supporting Scanner Desktop applications, clinical workflows, system interfaces, and platform services.

• Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Product Owners, Software Architects, Clinical Application teams, Verification & Validation teams, Cybersecurity teams, and global development teams to translate customer and clinical requirements into high quality software solutions.

• Lead the design and implementation of complex software features, evaluate technical approaches, and contribute to architectural decisions across the Scanner Desktop subsystem.

• Perform requirements analysis, impact assessments, software design, coding, debugging, code reviews, testing, and software integration activities throughout the product lifecycle.

• Investigate customer reported issues, software defects, and field escalations, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and reliability.

• Apply Agile, Lean, Software FMEA, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration practices to drive quality, maintainability, and reliability throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Design, develop, test, refactor, and continuously improve software while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements applicable to medical device software.

• Develop and maintain automated tests, improve test coverage, and contribute to automation initiatives that increase engineering productivity and product quality.

• Understand and optimize application performance, scalability, resource utilization, and system reliability.

• Work with core data structures, algorithms, multithreaded applications, distributed systems, and modern software design patterns.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, actively contributing to engineering best practices and technical excellence across the team.

• Proactively communicate technical information, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.

• Demonstrates end-to-end ownership of features from requirements through design, implementation, verification, release, and post-release support.

• Serve as a technical leader for key Scanner Desktop development initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, driving technical direction, and ensuring successful delivery of software commitments.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) with a minimum of 4 years relevant professional experience.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

• Experience with Java, OSGi based applications, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and service oriented architectures.

• Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, or similar modern UI frameworks.

• Experience developing software in Linux and Windows environments.

• Experience with source control and development tools such as Git, GitLab, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks, unit testing, integration testing, and test automation.

• Experience writing scripts using Python, Groovy, Shell, or similar scripting languages.

• Knowledge of YAML, JSON, and API driven system integrations.

• Experience debugging complex software issues and performing root cause analysis.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity, secure coding practices, static code analysis, and software quality tools.

• Understanding of software verification, traceability, risk management, and regulated product development environments is preferred.

• Experience in medical device software development is preferred.

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, automation frameworks, and modern engineering productivity solutions is a plus.

•Develop high quality, maintainable, and scalable code that meets engineering standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
