The Test Platform team is a group of software engineers that builds and operates a suite of OpenShift-native tooling and infrastructure supporting Continuous Integration processes for hundreds of GitHub repositories, deploying thousands of OpenShift clusters daily.
We are seeking engineers in Brazil with a schedule allowing regular collaboration and maintaining meaningful working-hour overlap with the rest of the team in the US East Coast and EMEA. Our primary focus is on maintaining testing infrastructure, including OpenShift cluster operations, building tools for CI infrastructure, including upstream kubernetes-sigs/prow. We are not analyzing test results. Go is our main programming language. Candidates should be willing to learn technologies mentioned below, comfortable logging into AWS or GCP consoles, and understand basic cloud computing.
What you'll do?
Design and build scalable, distributed solutions that enable Red Hat engineers to be productive and efficient
Engage with open source communities to build consensus on goals in shared projects and implement features to achieve those goals
Collaborate with Red Hat engineers to identify gaps in productivity and efficiency to be addressed by tooling
Investigate, communicate, and troubleshoot escalated issues coming from the engineering team
Maintain development, staging, and production environments and their monitoring and alerting systems
Participate in an on-call rotation to support multiple systems during working hours
Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
Perform code review for features and bug fixes
Mentor other engineers, lead them in building excellent services
What you'll bring?
An engineering degree or higher, or equivalent in computer science or a related field.
Five years or more experiences in software development
Proficiency with object-oriented and functional programming languages
Good written and verbal communication skills to handle communication in a distributed team
Knowledge of Git, GitHub, JIRA, Red Hat OpenShift, golang, Prow
Familiarity with Cloud-Native system design and development
Experience with AI-driven software development
Solid experience with Linux (i.e., Fedora), cloud computing (AWS, GCP), distributed systems, high availability, and build tools
Preferred Skills
Experience in container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
Experience in CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure
Ability to work in a globally distributed team
Understanding of Continuous Integration process
