About Team
Catalog Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best-in-class item setup & post-order experience by enabling third-party sellers/suppliers to list, sell and manage their products to our customers on walmart.com and at Walmart Stores. We do this by becoming the single source of truth from Catalog & Item information by collating the data concepts from various sources. This platform deals with very high volume of data and serves very high TPS.
What You’ll Do
Through this role you have an opportunity to design and develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
Architecture & Design Reviews and Code Reviews across teams.
You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes, best practices and create updates regularly to address the customer’s and company’s concerns
You will show your skills in analysing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work
You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
Participate in hiring and build teams enabling them to be high performing agile teams.
You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications
What You’ll bring
B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
6-8 years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development.
Hands-on experience in building web applications using Java, spring boot, RESTful Web-Services, Kafka.
Experience in systems design and distributed systems.
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Exposure to SQL/NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, Elastic, Mongo etc.
Large scale distributed services experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
Exposure to build, CI/CD & deployment pipelines and related technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins etc
