We are seeking a technical leader to help deliver Splunk's Security’s User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) solution. UEBA is a risk management solution that leverages ML/AI algorithms and behavior analytics to provide comprehensive user and entity insights. By delving into these insights, security teams can identify anomalies and take measures to mitigate potential impacts.
Meet the User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) TeamWe are a passionate team who cares deeply about our customers, our teammates and you. In this role, you will work with product management, our design team, our customers and other engineering teams. We have a lean process that focuses on empowering and serving our engineers as opposed to just directing them.
Our team develops software in Python and React and uses modern technologies like Docker, GitLab CI/CD, AWS and many more.
Our Engineering Team operates in the following time zones: Central European Time, Eastern Time, Central Time and Pacific Time. Our team is fully distributed and we welcome English speakers within those time zones.
What you'll get to do:- Own and be accountable for the design, development and operation of new product features
- Lead team design and architectural discussions.
- Build reliable, scalable, and high-performance applications.
- Debug and resolve customer-reported issues, delivering effective solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational activities to ensure service reliability.
- Learn, explore, and integrate new technologies into the team’s workflow.
- Mentor junior members of the team with an eye toward their future career growth.
- Backend Development: Proficiency in Python (preferred) or Java, with a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Data & Storage: Expertise in SQL, key-value stores (Redis), and search/analytics platforms (Elasticsearch, Splunk).
- Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab).
- Operational Excellence: Skilled in system monitoring, telemetry, log management, and leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development.
- Communication & Collaboration: Proven track record of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and a demonstrated commitment to accountability and intellectual curiosity.
- Experience Requirements: 8+ years of related experience with a technical Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with Master’s.
- Proficiency in frontend programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
- Hands-on experience with building, testing and deploying production ready LLM based AI solutions.
This role comes with the on-call shift schedule up to 20% of time.
