About the role:

This position reports to a manger based in Pune, India. You will collaborate with teams globally so flexibility with early/late morning starts will be needed.

The ideal candidate is a polyglot engineer who is comfortable moving between systems-level macOS development and high-scale backend services written in Java and Go, while managing complex data flows through Snowflake, Kafka, and S3.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to work on problems of complex scope, Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.

  • Should work as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance with independent planning and execution of responsibilities.

  • Should effectively use various AI tools approved by organization to optimize efforts and create greater impact.

  • Should continue to build upon domain knowledge along with technical/proprietary skills to reach levels of expertise.

  • Effectively collaborate with peers across different time zones on designs, code reviews, and testing.

  • Mentor junior members and guide them on technical solutions.

 Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: 5+ years of professional software development experience with deep expertise in Java or Go.

  • macOS Expertise: Proven experience developing or maintaining macOS applications (familiarity with Swift/Objective-C or system-level macOS APIs is a significant plus).

  • Experience developing microservices in multi-tenant SaaS application.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to navigate a complex, multi-language environment and bridge the gap between desktop clients and backend infrastructure.

  • Fast learner and self-directed, flexible enough to work on new technologies as well as some legacy components.

Desired (nice-to-have) Skills:

  • Cloud & Data: Strong experience with AWS S3 and Apache Kafka.

  • Data Warehousing: Experience working with Snowflake (querying, optimizing, and integrating).

  • Orchestration: Experience with DAG-based workflow tools (e.g., Apache Airflow or similar).

  • Identity Security: Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and ISC connector frameworks is highly preferred.

What success looks like in the role:

In first 30 days (Onboarding & Integration):

  • Understanding Domain and Products: You will understand the Identity Management domain.  Also understand SailPoint’s Identity Security Cloud and other products.

  • Environment Mastery: You will have your development environment fully configured for the macOS application, as well as our Java and Go microservices.

  • Architecture Deep Dive: You will gain a solid understanding of the data flow between our microservices, Kafka, and Snowflake, and how the ISC connectors integrate with the broader identity ecosystem.

  • Initial Contributions: You will have successfully completed your first few code reviews and shipped a minor bug fix or improvement to the macOS application or a backend service.

In first 90 days (Execution & Ownership):

  • Full Ownership: You will have taken primary responsibility for the maintenance and evolution of the macOS application, including handling OS compatibility updates and performance tuning.

  • Service Reliability: You will be independently managing the ISC connectors and backend microservices, ensuring that data pipelines (Kafka, S3, Snowflake) are running smoothly.

  • Orchestration Proficiency: You will be comfortable navigating and modifying DAGs to ensure reliable data orchestration and troubleshooting any pipeline failures.

In first 180 days (Innovation & Impact):

  • Technical Leadership: You are the recognized subject matter expert for the macOS application. You are proactively identifying and mitigating potential system-level issues before they impact users.

  • Optimization & Scaling: You will have led at least one major architectural improvement, such as optimizing Snowflake data ingestion or increasing the throughput of our Go-based microservices.

  • Strategic Growth: You are contributing to the long-term roadmap for our identity integrations and mentoring other engineers on the nuances of macOS systems development and distributed backend architecture.
