General Summary:The Senior Software Engineer - ServiceNow will provide technical leadership for Unum's ServiceNow platform, with a focus on Configuration Management, ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, enterprise integrations, and data governance. This role will play a central part in a multi-year initiative to align ServiceNow with CSDM 5, improve service visibility and data quality, and integrate with strategic platforms including Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions.Working closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Architecture, and Application teams, this individual will design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions, optimize Discovery and Service Mapping capabilities, and establish trusted technology and service relationships that support operational resilience, compliance, and business decision-making across the enterprise.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with ServiceNow development and platform engineering.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Configuration Management, and ITOM capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, MID Servers, and Discovery troubleshooting.
- Experience implementing and supporting CSDM, preferably CSDM 5 or later.
- Experience improving CMDB governance, reconciliation, data quality, and operational adoption.
- Experience building and supporting integrations with enterprise platforms such as Workday, AWS, MuleSoft, Dynatrace, Tenable, and other cloud and operational systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for the enterprise ServiceNow CMDB, driving architecture, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Lead CMDB modernization efforts, including CSDM 5 alignment, data quality initiatives, and CMDB adoption.
- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow CMDB solutions, CI models, and relationship mappings.
- Lead ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping activities, including MID Server management, discovery tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Design and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise platforms, including Workday, AWS, MuleSoft, Dynatrace, Tenable, monitoring tools, and other strategic systems.
- Support integration of CMDB data with Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) platforms.
- Develop ServiceNow automations, workflows, configurations, custom applications, and platform enhancements.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, cloud, architecture, and application teams to establish a trusted system of record for enterprise technology services.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, code reviews, and guidance to engineers across the team.
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, solution design, testing, and continuous improvement activities.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,400.00-$183,500.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
