The OpportunityAs a Senior Software Engineer on the Search Team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing multiple integrations, contributing to the enhancement of Simpplr's search infrastructure. You will leverage advanced technologies, including vector-based search, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning-driven ranking, and semantic search to enhance search functionality, ensuring fast, accurate, and intuitive results for users across our platform. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a talented team, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to a product that enhances the workplace experience for users worldwide.
Your Job ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing:
- Design and Develop Integrations: Build and optimize multiple connectors and integrations with third-party platforms, enhancing the search ecosystem's capabilities.
- Enhance Search Infrastructure: Contribute to the scalability, performance, and reliability of Simpplr's search platform by implementing efficient data pipelines and indexing strategies.
- Leverage Advanced Search Technologies: Utilize vector-based search, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning-driven ranking, and semantic search to deliver fast, accurate, and relevant results.
- Optimize Search Relevancy: Collaborate with the data science team to fine-tune ranking algorithms and improve search accuracy based on user behavior and feedback.
- Ensure Code Quality and Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to industry best practices and participating in code reviews.
- Monitor and Improve Performance: Continuously monitor search performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Contribute to Innovation: Stay updated on the latest search technologies and trends, bringing in new ideas and innovations to improve Simpplr's search capabilities.
What makes you a great fit for the team:
- 4 to 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with expertise in search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr, OpenSearch).
- Proficiency in Python: Strong experience in Python programming, with expertise in writing efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Expertise in Elasticsearch: Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, including indexing, querying, and optimizing performance. Prior experience with Elasticsearch connectors is a plus.
- Experience with Search Technologies: Familiarity with vector-based search, NLP, semantic search, and machine learning-driven ranking.
- Experience in designing and optimizing large-scale search systems, including queuing mechanisms (Kafka or similar) for efficient data ingestion, indexing, and event-driven processing.
- Integration and API Development: Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party platforms.
- Database and Data Pipelines: Knowledge of data indexing, ETL pipelines, and data processing for large-scale search systems.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure or AWS, including managing cloud-based search infrastructure.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent team collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
