The Role 

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in software development and a strong foundation in software engineering principles. The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating effectively across multiple workstreams and collaborating with cross-functional teams. In this role, you will support our Digital Transformation team in developing custom applications and services, while continuously driving improvements to our software solutions.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for software development, designing solutions, and writing code from the ground up. You will also contribute to major project initiatives, enhancements, and day-to-day support. This role demands a flexible, agile approach to meet evolving business needs. The technologies you will work with will vary, but you should have strong programming skills in React and C#, along with a deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, REST APIs, OpenAPI Specification, and API-first development.

You will also work within a microservice architecture, leveraging containerized applications, Kubernetes, and Splunk Observability. The team is exploring mobile application development and familiarity and working experience with these technologies will be considered a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within multiple agile teams, working closely with stakeholders to analyze system requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of custom applications and services to meet business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by promoting innovative solutions for software development and testing.
  • Assist with systems integration, custom solutions, and daily operational support.
  • Help evaluate and pilot new technologies that can enhance end-user productivity across S&P Global.
  • Champion change by taking ownership of initiatives and ensuring their successful realization.
  • Maintain adherence to S&P Global’s core values: Discovery, Partnership, and Integrity.  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.
  • Solid Programming and current hands-on development skills with React, JavaScript, and responsive web interface development.
  • Experience with at least one backend technology (e.g., C#, Node.js, etc.).
  • Experience developing mobile applications is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, REST architecture, OpenAPI Specification, and API-first development.
  • Understanding of Microservices Architecture
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
  • Mobile Application Development
  • Full-Stack Development experience.
