Job Description:
Seeking for a detail-oriented and skilled Functional Tester to join our Treasury applications quality assurance team. The candidate will be responsible for validating the treasury application functionalities to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver quality software solutions. The candidate should have strong understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with development and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentations to create detailed test plans, test data and test cases
- Identify test scenarios and prioritize them based on business impact and risk
- Perform functional testing for applications, including system integration, and regression testing
- Execute test cases manually and/or using automated tools, ensuring all functionalities are thoroughly validated
- Identify, document, and report defects in a clear and concise manner using defect tracking tools
- Collaborate with Developers, System Analysts, Business Analysts, Business Users and other stakeholders to reproduce, prioritize, clarify ambiguities, and resolve issues
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test data, test results, and defect reports
- Ensure traceability between test cases and business requirements
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, grooming/refining and retrospectives
- Ensure that the developed application functionalities meet quality standards and adheres to business requirements
- Validate that the application performs as expected under various conditions and scenarios and no compromise to security and audit expectations
- Perform data-based validations at front-end UI, back-end databases according to requirements, mappings and taxonomies
- Perform client-side validations on the UI, browser compatibility and so on
- Validate APIs using Postman/SoapUI along with token and validate any sort of authentication and authorization
- Prepare automation tools to simplify, reusable and effective testing practices, closely work with business to reuse the tools during UAT execution
- Participate in UAT/warranty defects triage to understand the defects, identify the gaps caused missing those defects in SIT, and take preventive actions
- Suggest improvements to testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in software testing
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools and processes
- Knowledge of SQL for database validation
- Experience of APIs and experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)
- Experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge of performance testing tools
- Experience in Payment file validation according to bank requirement is plus
- Experience in testing with Cloud platforms (Azure), Access Management, Vaults are additional preferred skills
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work in an agile development environment
Experience:
- 5 to 10 years hands on experience with software testing principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience in organization standards, participation full project development life cycle right from requirements gathering, system test, UAT, and warranty
- Working experience in Agile environment and Scrum framework process (ceremonies, daily standups, agility, responsibilities and accountability)
- Experience in use of JIRA for test artifacts and test execution
