JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer, Project Lead (Job Code: SB0828)
JOB DETAILS:
Multi-Level Technical Leadership: Provide multi-level technical leadership by coordinating project workstreams for senior engineering peers, while proactively scaling team expertise through the mentorship and development of early-career engineers. Regulatory Engineering Leadership (CRA): Lead the technical definition and execution of major projects associated with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Drive the architectural integration of "security-by-design" principles across the employer's cloud infrastructure and connected device services to meet global regulatory standards. CI/CD Modernization & Standardization: Lead the strategic revamp and standardization of CI/CD workflows, transitioning the organization from legacy Jenkins pipelines to modern GitHub Actions and Workflows to improve deployment velocity, security, and reliability. Strategic Architectural Consolidation: Drive complex technical migrations, including the successful merging of distinct projects into unified codebases and the strategic rerouting of cloud-based traffic with zero downtime or customer impact. AI-Augmented Development Leadership: Drive developer productivity by championing the integration of Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Google Gemini) into the software development lifecycle to accelerate code generation, unit testing, and complex debugging. Defining Engineering Standards: Establish and document "gold standard" project templates and methodologies—including automated compliance frameworks and AI-assisted development best practices—to be adopted as the departmental blueprint for future cloud software projects. Operational Excellence & Risk Mitigation: Manage complex pre-production environments to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of mission-critical services while maintaining system integrity for end-users. Strategic Communication & Planning: Define and execute comprehensive communication plans for major technical initiatives and infrastructure shifts, ensuring alignment with business goals and transparency for all senior stakeholders. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the cloud engineering function, defining new standards for reliability, scalability, and efficiency that impact broader departmental and functional goals. May work from home 2 days a week.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field plus 6 years of experience in the offered position or related position; or Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field plus 8 years of experience in the offered position or related position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year of experience translating complex regulatory requirements (EU CRA) into technical specifications, including the implementation of automated SBOM and vulnerability management.
- 3 years of experience designing and implementing standardized workflows using GitHub Actions and Workflows, including the migration of legacy systems from Jenkins.
- 4 years of experience with AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and ElasticCache.
- 4 years of experience with Java (SpringBoot) and JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) for high-throughput cloud services.
- 1 year of experience utilizing Generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Google Gemini) for code generation and automated testing.
- 2 years of experience with Maven and Gradle build automation and dependency management for Java-based services.
- 3 years of experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB or Redis) storage technologies.
- 2 years of experience defining service health frameworks (SLOs/SLIs) and monitoring system performance using Grafana and Datadog.
- 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity, coordinating technical deliverables for senior-level peers.
- 2 years of experience executing complex system migrations, including codebase consolidation and cloud traffic rerouting.
