Help build the pricing foundation behind STARK Group’s digital transformation
 

Are you an experienced developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and shaping scalable, high‑quality software? As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will take a central role in shaping and evolving the pricing solutions that support STARK Group’s commercial performance across Northern Europe. This is an opportunity to work hands‑on with modern technologies while influencing the long‑term technical direction of a core business domain.

Your role and impact
You will join the Pricing Team within the Athene programme - STARK Group’s major digital transformation initiative – while being part of a strong community of software engineers working from our office in Viby J and our other Group IT locations. In this role, you design and build reliable and scalable services, ensure long‑term technical health, and collaborate closely with QA, UX, business analysts, architects and commercial stakeholders. You will contribute with architectural thinking, set engineering standards and act as a mentor for junior colleagues.

Your core job responsibilities will be to:

• Making key implementation decisions that ensure system reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Translating business needs into highquality technical solutions and collaborating across disciplines to deliver them‑.
• Leading by example on engineering best practices, test discipline, documentation and code quality.
• Driving consistency across applications by following agreed architectural guidelines and technical standards.
• Participate in internal and external networks to stay at the forefront of technology and share insights with colleagues.

You will be successful in this role when pricing features are stable, scalable, and aligned across the Athene landscape - and when your technical leadership contributes to strong team collaboration, clarity and delivery momentum.

What you bring

We are looking for a skilled and engaged engineer who combines strong technical depth with curiosity and collaboration. You enjoy understanding system behaviour in detail, solving complex problems and contributing to long‑term architecture while keeping execution pragmatic.

You bring:

• 5–10 years of professional software development experience in agile development environments, ideally your experience is in C# or Java.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles such as SOLID, DRY, KISS, clean architecture and design patterns.
• Solid understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) and commitment to high code standards
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, eventdriven architecture or ‑APIfirst design (nice‑ to have).
• Experience with pricing engines, rulebased‑ systems or dataintensive applications (nice‑ to have).
• Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a proactive, improvementoriented‑ mindset.
