The Role
At Dojo, the Platform team builds the foundation that enables our engineering teams to move faster and innovate with confidence. We provide self-serve capabilities and scalable tools that empower teams to work autonomously, eliminate bottlenecks, and drive efficiency. By streamlining access to essential infrastructure and services, we accelerate the ability of teams to deliver value to our customers quickly and at scale.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about building robust, scalable, and efficient infrastructure solutions. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to design, develop, and operate the core platform services that underpin Dojo's products. You will play a critical role in delivering scalable, user-friendly products and frameworks that enhance developer productivity and system resiliency across the engineering organization. Your focus will be on technical execution, innovation, and collaborating effectively within the team and across the organization.
What You Will Do
- Design and Build Software & Tools: Actively participate in the design, hands-on development, deployment, and operation of scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure services and automation.
- Shape Developer Enablement: Contribute significantly to the tools and frameworks that simplify access to centralized infrastructure, empowering creators to build with speed and confidence.
- Optimize Engineering Workflows: Implement and improve processes for managing ongoing maintenance, operational tasks, and long-term platform projects, ensuring a balance between reliability and innovation through automation and best practices.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with fellow engineers and stakeholders across the organization to understand needs, align platform capabilities, and maximize the impact of the infrastructure you build.
- Stay at the Cutting Edge: Explore, evaluate, and advocate for modern infrastructure practices, cloud-native technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve our platform and developer experience.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Champion software engineering best practices within the team, focusing on code quality, testing, automation, and operational excellence.
What You Will Bring
- Proven Hands-on Experience: A strong track record of designing, building, deploying, and operating complex, scalable, and reliable backend systems and infrastructure in a cloud environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, distributed system design, cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS), and expertise in automated deployments through declarative configurations (e.g., GitOps, blue-green).
- Backend Development Skills: Solid experience building applications within a service-oriented architecture using languages like Golang, Java, or .Net.
- Platform Engineering Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in platform engineering technologies, including container orchestration (Kubernetes), distributed systems (e.g., Kafka), and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform).
- Developer Experience Focus: A deep understanding of developer needs, with experience improving workflows, reducing cognitive load, and enabling faster feedback loops through infrastructure and tooling.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to discuss technical solutions clearly and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex infrastructure challenges.
