The Acquia Source Platform Engineering team at Acquia is responsible for developing and maintaining Acquia Source UI, Sites API and other associated services. Acquia is seeking an exceptional full stack Senior Software Engineer, who has the ability to grow into an industry leader. You have a strong understanding of APIs development using the PHP Symfony framework. You are able to take technical and business requirements and deliver them successfully. You are innovative, bringing your own ideas and suggestions to the project. You know what it means to be collaborative, and play well with others. You will work with your fellow engineers, Product, and Customer Success teams to identify inefficiencies in our current services and processes, then propose and implement changes to improve the Customer Experience. 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will...

  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with front and back-end engineers, product managers, and product owners.
  • Design and develop performant, object-oriented applications and APIs using PHP.
  • Create automated tests.
  • Collaborate with your team members and other interfacing teams to review their work and have your work reviewed in turn.
  • Design and develop unit and system tests that give the team confidence to deploy to production multiple times per day.
  • Produce comprehensive software documentation for public and internal use.

  • Have experience in working on frontend application development using Angular with backend API development in PHP (Symfony framework) and MySQL.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • 5+ years of experience with PHP Symfony framework (Show us your GitHub profile)
  • Experience with various AWS services (SQS, EC2, RDS, EFS and API Gateway).
  • Have hands-on experience building and operating large and complex user interfaces using PHP and Angular
  • Have familiarity with design patterns; and write clean, maintainable code.
  • Have excellent troubleshooting skills. 
  • Experience working in Agile and continuous delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD tooling, as well as experience writing unit and system tests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially transforming product requirements into development plans.
  • Knowledge of MTTR, SLO, SLI and monitoring systems like Sumologic. Experience with working on compliance requirements like FedRamp and PCI.

Additional bonus if you have 

  • Develop and review user interfaces using custom Angular components.
  • GoLang programming experience using Gin framework. 
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience.
  • Writing Sumologic queries and creating Sumologic Dashboards.
  • DevOps and SRE mindset.
