About Marvell
Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.
At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.
Your Team, Your Impact
Marvell is a leading provider of innovative storage and data infrastructuretechnologies, including ultra-fast processors, leading-edge transceivers, highly
efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines. These solutions
address all segments of the data center, cloud, and enterprise systems markets,
providing complete solutions including controllers, product firmware, and
reference board designs.
The MBE Software team, based out of Hyderabad/Bangalore, is looking for a
talented, self-driven, and motivated hands-on engineer to work on developing
firmware and platform software for Marvell’s next-generation data center SoCs.
The scope of work involves developing and integrating BMC management
firmware, Linux kernel platform drivers, and embedded firmware stacks —
working closely with QA teams on validation, and with customers on resolving
reported issues.
What You Can Expect
- Design, develop, and debug embedded firmware in C for multi-core SoC platforms (CCP, MCP, SCP, PCP, AP cores) running bare-metal and Zephyr RTOS environments.
- Implement and maintain BMC protocol stacks — MCTP, PLDM, and Redfish — enabling out-of-band management, telemetry collection, health monitoring, and crash dump delivery to the BMC.
- Develop and maintain Linux kernel platform drivers for peripherals including I2C, I3C, SPI, GPIO, USB.
- Participate in root cause analysis and provide timely fixes for customer and internal issues.
What We're Looking For
- Good experience in C programming for embedded/firmware development; strong understanding of data structures, memory management, and low-level hardware interaction.
- Hands-on experience with Linux kernel concepts — device drivers, kernel modules, interrupt handling, DMA, memory-mapped I/O, and device tree.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel platform subsystems: I2C, I3C, SPI, GPIO, PCIe, and the MCTP kernel stack.
- Basic knowledge on firmware architecture on ARM-based SoCs — boot flows (U-Boot, ATF/TF-A, UEFI/EDK2), multi-stage boot, and bare-metal/RTOS (Zephyr) environments.
- Knowledge of BMC management protocols like MCTP, PLDM, SPDM and Redfish.
- Good understanding of Linux kernel memory management, synchronization techniques, interrupt handling, and IOMMU concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields and 3–5 years of related professional experience.
- Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 2 years of experience.
