Senior Software Engineer (L4)

We are seeking talented and motivated Senior Software Engineers (L4) to help build and scale the backend services powering our 1ExigerAI platform.
As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll design, develop, and maintain the services behind critical platform capabilities, including real-time alerting, workflow automation, and supply chain investigation tools. Your work will help customers uncover risks, streamline complex processes, and make smarter decisions using AI-powered technology.
You'll work closely with a technical lead, product manager, product designer, and fellow engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing software. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with opportunities to take ownership of meaningful projects, influence technical decisions, and help shape how we build software.
We're also embracing AI throughout our engineering organization. Our engineers actively use tools like Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, improve code quality, and rethink traditional software development workflows. You'll have the opportunity to leverage these tools daily while helping evolve our AI-enabled software development lifecycle.

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting the 1ExigerAI platform.
• Develop and enhance product capabilities such as real-time alerting, workflow builders, and supply chain investigation tools.
• Take ownership of features and projects from technical design through development, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including engineering, product management, and design, to turn business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications, leveraging microservices, containerization, and modern infrastructure practices.
• Contribute to system design discussions, architectural improvements, and technical decisions that improve scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve observability, and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen system reliability.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Help improve our AI-enabled engineering workflows, including development, testing, code reviews, deployment, and automation.
• Participate in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment using Kanban, continuous delivery, and daily deployments.
• Contribute to code reviews, share technical knowledge, and help maintain high standards for engineering quality.

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development and building production-grade applications.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, or strong experience with comparable backend technologies and a willingness to work in our core stack.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of databases, data modeling and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of system design principles, application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting applications in live environments.
• Familiarity with messaging and asynchronous processing technologies such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or Redis.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, or a strong interest in incorporating AI into everyday engineering workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a willingness to continuously learn and improve.

Senior Software Engineer (L4)

• Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical go-to person for a team or product area, guiding the design and implementation of complex systems.
• Experience designing reusable components, services, and architectural patterns that improve engineering efficiency and scalability.
• Ability to navigate complex technical tradeoffs and influence architecture and engineering best practices.
• Comfortable mentoring other engineers informally through technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Strong ownership of system quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
