Our customer is an American memorabilia manufacturer primarily known for producing yearbooks and class rings for high schools and colleges. The company has also expanded its portfolio to include photobook products for Disney’s PhotoPass photography service at theme parks and resorts.

What You’ll Do- Design, develop, maintain, and review backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and scalable backend solutions.
- Develop and support applications based on microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver new features.
- Participate actively in technical discussions, presentations, architecture decisions, and backend development initiatives.
- Work with Kafka for event-driven and distributed application architectures.
- Work with PostgreSQL, including designing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Implement and maintain data persistence using JPA.
- Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Analyze and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
- Follow SDLC and CI/CD processes and contribute to continuous improvement of development and deployment practices.
- Work collaboratively within an Agile team, contributing to a fast-paced environment where ideas, feedback, and continuous learning are encouraged.
- Professional experience with Java, with strong hands-on expertise in Spring Web, Spring Boot, REST APIs, application security, and microservices architecture. Solid understanding of software design patterns, troubleshooting, and problem-solving is required.
- Strong experience working with Kafka, Elasticsearch or SOLR, AWS, JPA, and PostgreSQL, including the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Proficiency with modern development and engineering tools, including IntelliJ IDEA, Git (GitHub/GitLab), JIRA, Docker, and Maven, along with an in-depth understanding of SDLC and CI/CD processes.
- Availability to work until 3:00 PM CST.
- Experience working in e-commerce environments.
- Experience with Broadleaf Commerce is highly preferred.
- Experience working with large-scale, distributed backend systems.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and cloud-native application development.
