What You'll Do
- Take a leadership role in extending team charter to include an API Catalog, contributing to cross-team features alongside the API Gateway.
- Design, develop, and optimize backend systems using Java, effectively contributing to API ecosystem improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to work on features that enhance discovery, observability, and governance within our API ecosystem.
- Utilize existing telemetry data and cutting-edge technologies, like AI, to achieve innovative solutions in API management.
- Promote best practices and lead efforts to ensure high standards in software quality, performance, and scalability.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Your Opportunity
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a deep understanding of the API ecosystem.
- Proficient in Java backend with API development.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API cataloging methodologies.
- Ability to leverage telemetry data for automated discovery and observability enhancements.
- Excellent collaboration abilities and leadership skills in cross-functional environments.
Bonus Points
- Contribution to open-source projects.
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI Specifications (OAS) and API Contracts.
