About the Role:We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to architect, develop, and scale the next generation of Toast’s mobile platform. You'll lead key initiatives across design, development, and release, creating global-ready, high-performance solutions that power restaurants everywhere.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, mentor engineers, and drive continuous innovation as we extend Toast's reach across the globe.
What You'll Do:Architect and build scalable mobile solutions with a Global-First approach.
Partner with Product, Design, QA, and Customer Success to deliver world-class features with a relentless focus on usability and quality.
Champion new technologies like SwiftUI, Combine, GraphQL, and CloudKit, driving best practices across the team.
Own the full development lifecycle — from technical design to release, monitoring, and iteration.
Lead and mentor engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
Build comprehensive testing strategies (unit, UI, and integration testing) using XCTest and XCUITest.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and ensure seamless, monitored deployments.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory.
7+ years of hands-on iOS development experience — or equivalent proven expertise building enterprise-grade mobile apps.
Deep proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, Core Data, and networking libraries like Alamofire.
Strong architecture skills (MVC, MVVM, VIPER, or Clean Architecture).
Expertise in offline storage strategies (Core Data, CloudKit) and real-time messaging (Firebase, AWS).
Experience deploying high-quality apps via robust CI/CD pipelines.
Proficient with analytics, monitoring, and crash reporting tools (Firebase, Splunk, Heap, Crashlytics).
A collaborative leader with a customer-first mindset and passion for delivering reliable, scalable products.
Experience integrating mobile apps with GraphQL APIs.
Backend familiarity (Java/Kotlin, microservices) and scalable data modeling (Postgres, DynamoDB).
Hands-on experience with observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, or Sentry.
Experience with localization and internationalization best practices.
