What is your role going to be?
• Will be responsible for assisting and resolving issues for the Developers, DBA's, and Release Management team with Windows/Linux issues.
• Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. Site reliability engineers create a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration topics. They split their time between operations/on-call duties and developing systems and software that help increase site reliability and performance.
• Analyze and resolve Windows, UNIX or Linux problems associated with applications, software, and the servers.
• Add new certificates into Windows servers
• Cross-train with the Portico DevOps team to perform builds and deploy software using Octopus/Jenkins
What are we looking for?
● 7+ experience in Application support, operations, ITIL, experience in .NET, including latest version, with the majority of this experience in C#
● Deep understanding of design principles, threading, real-time processing, and SQL Server DB queries and performance tuning
● Experience debugging and performance tuning applications and services
● Work experience in the payments industry - Strong experience in .NET C#
● Experience in working on building API/service-based platforms/products
● Hands-on experience with DevOps - CICD (Jenkins), source control (Git, TFS), Container technologies (docker/Kubernetes), Managing load balancer, Deployment tools - Octopus (or any), Configuring monitoring tool (AppDynamics).
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
● Exceptional communication skills, both in written and in verbal form are required due to the extensively collaborative role
● Quick Learner with attention to detail
● Always looking for process improvement and strongly taking the automation first approach
● Resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing idea with ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
● Can conduct their own research or analysis of a topic that they themselves are unfamiliar with
