Job Description:

You will be part of the Software development team in Chennai, India, working on software tools for our USB Hubs, PCIe/USB Ethernet controllers.  The job responsibilities include,

  • Design and develop configuration, provisioning, and diagnostic tools using Rust
  • Build reliable, secure, and scalable applications for configuring and managing embedded devices and systems
  • Develop GUI- or CLI-based utilities for device setup, monitoring, firmware management, and system configuration
  • Work closely with firmware, hardware, and product engineering teams to define tool requirements and integration workflows
  • Implement communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet or TCP/IP
  • Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and usability
  • Debug and troubleshoot software and device communication issues
  • Develop automated testing, validation, and CI/CD workflows for configuration tools
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, APIs, and user guides
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality and best practices

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in software development with exposure to embedded or hardware-integrated systems
  • Strong proficiency in Rust programming language
  • Experience developing configuration, monitoring, or system utility tools
  • Knowledge of device communication protocols and hardware interaction
  • Familiarity with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows application development
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and software reliability

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of software tools development experience
  • Strong experience in Rust
  • Strong experience in modern C++
  • Solid understanding of backend fundamentals (concurrency, networking, performance, security basics)
  • Experience with modern build systems and tooling (e.g., Cargo, CMake, Bazel, Meson)
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments and automated testing
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Team player but able to work independently; self-starter adaptable to changing requirements
  • gRPC and Protocol Buffers experience
  • Familiarity with Docker/containers, deployment workflows, and software upgrade processes
