About the team
The HubSpot Product team is made up of over 1000+ engineers, designers, product managers, and researchers. We’re passionate about building tools that help small and medium-sized businesses market, sell, and serve their customers — and ultimately, grow better.
These tools end up in the HubSpot application platform, which itself is made up of thousands of services, workers, and jobs spanning over 170 teams and thousands of repos. Our teams work autonomously to deploy these systems across a common infrastructure 6,000 times a day. As we’ve grown to serve over 205,000 customers in 100 countries, reliability and stability have become just as important as speed and time to market. And as we’ve opened up our APIs, our product has moved to the core of many of our customers’ and partners’ businesses.
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact Platform Infrastructure team focused on developing user interfaces, APIs, and other tools on top of Kubernetes and other backing cloud infrastructure. You'll join a talented set of teams polishing and making our base platform infrastructure more easily usable to other Infrastructure and Product teams.
What you’ll do:
- Work in a highly autonomous environment
- Conceive, design, and build full stack features, starting at the infrastructure layer, while operating at scale
- Analyze, identify, and execute on solutions to improve existing applications and user experience
- Help triage and support a rapidly growing cross-company user ecosystem
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with teammates and stakeholders
- Guide and mentor peers
- Collaborate closely with adjacent teams to guide the evolution of Kubernetes at HubSpot
What we’re looking for:
- Software development experience in either Java or Python
- Software development experience in either TypeScript or JavaScript
- Track record of successful projects, support, and growth
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure at scale
- A curious mindset and a keen problem solver
- The desire to collaborate empathetically with other engineers as a subject matter expert
- Interest or experience working cross-functionally with other engineering teams to deliver effective change

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
