Job Summary:

What you need to know about the Role:
The Consumer SNOCAT engineering team is seeking a Sr.Software Engineer passionate about solving technical challenges and enabling the notifications PayPal products.
In this role, you will work with a team of engineers and build software for both PayPal developers and users. You will be responsible for designing and developing highly scalable back-end and UI systems and tools to manage the PayPal notifications content. You are self-motivated, have excellent design instincts, and enjoy working with multi-functional teams.

The SNOCAT engineering team which is part of the Consumer team at PayPal is responsible for creating and serving user notifications content to millions of PayPal users. We are looking for a talented Sr.Software Engineer with a passion for building great developer experiences and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and fun work environment.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advises immediate management on project-level issues
• Guides junior engineers
• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Expected Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

What you need to bring:

·      Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

·      5+ years’ experience designing, developing, and delivering software related to platforms using Node.js, ReactJS, and Java. Preferred experienced full-stack developer.

·      A successful candidate will be a strong engineer who can work in a high-performing team, creatively balance high-quality delivery with customer focus to meet business needs, has excellent communication skills, and has a continuous record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

·      Track record of leading, developing, and delivering significant software projects

·      Expert knowledge in Java, Spring framework, Spring boot, JavaScript like React and node.js

·      Good understanding of web services and related standards like REST/JSON.

·      Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

·      Exposure to AI-driven strategies for content customization.

·      Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, scaling and performance) of new and current large scale distributed systems.

·      Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.

·      Experience in Domain Driven Design and modeling complex business domains

·      Demonstrable experience building complex customer facing platforms, inclusive of complex APIs and other aspects of developer experiences (sandbox, playgrounds, simulators, etc.)

·      Experience with the software release lifecycle using modern distributed version control (e.g. git)

Experience working in an Agile environment, including Extreme Programming practices like Iterative Development, Continuous Integration (and Deployment) and Test-Driven Development

Location: Bangalore / Chennai

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with using Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems.
Knowledge of the payment processing industry and relevant regulations.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Contributions to open-source projects.
Work Permit and Relocation Prerequisites: Must already possess valid authorization to work in the country where the position is advertised/located. Relocation support will not be provided for this role.
