Who We AreThe Product-Led Growth (PLG) team on Toast Web owns key surfaces across the Toast web experience - from discovery to re-engagement. We focus on increasing customer activation, conversion, and retention through experimentation, performance improvements, and targeted features. We build and iterate quickly, test ideas at scale, and obsess over insights from our metrics.
We're looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Engineer who’s excited to contribute across the stack, work closely with product and design partners, and ship impactful features that move the business. If you want to work at the intersection of growth, UX, and scale, this role is for you.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Build performant, scalable web features across guest and restaurant-facing surfaces, incorporating AI-powered insights to personalise experiences and accelerate growth.
- Drive technical discovery and delivery on high-impact product initiatives, like personalised upsell flows, dynamic landing pages, and A/B test infrastructure.
- Partner closely with Design, Product, and Data Science to validate ideas and measure success
- Identify friction points and drive experiments that improve user acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Help evolve our platform and patterns to support growth at scale
- Champion clean, testable code and be a mentor to others in code reviews and architecture discussions
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- 5+ years of experience as a Frontend/Fullstack developer, ideally in consumer-facing or growth teams
- Strong frontend skills (React preferred) with a solid grasp of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals
- Proficient backend development experience using Node.js or Java/Kotlin
- Experience integrating and acting on product analytics tools like Amplitude, Heap, or GA
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing best practices
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Strong collaboration mindset, you thrive in a team, work transparently, and build with empathy
- A curiosity-driven approach to problem-solving, you're excited by data, insights, and iterative delivery

- Prior contributions to scalable design systems or shared web infrastructure
