Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (TS/SCI)

Maxar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a high-impact mission in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves developing, enhancing, and maintaining software systems used across networked, local, and internet-based environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the full software development lifecycle and a passion for building scalable, enterprise-level solutions in cloud environments.
Location: This position is full time onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, code, and enhance software systems, supporting both new development and improvements to existing applications.
• Use modern programming languages and technologies to build robust, scalable, and maintainable software.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define system requirements and plan necessary modifications.
• Develop and execute systematic testing procedures to ensure quality and functionality.
• Work with data of varying volumes and velocity across Linux or similar development environments.
• Support distributed system development, focusing on performance, scalability, and integration across multiple platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required. A CI poly is not required but highly preferred.
• Minimum 6+ years of technical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Strong coding experience in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Experience working in multiple coding paradigms (object-oriented, functional, procedural, event-driven).
• Familiarity with unit testing and code path analysis.
• Proven experience implementing and executing full software lifecycles, including automated testing and integration.
• Background in code review processes and enforcing code quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying enterprise-level, distributed software systems in cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with penetration testing or computer network operations (CNO).
• Familiarity with open-source offensive security tools and frameworks.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new languages, tools, and frameworks.
• Experience developing custom capabilities for cyber operations.
• Ability to adapt or reverse engineer existing proof-of-concept (POC) exploits.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area is:
$175,000.00 - $190,000.00
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
