About Backend Software Engineer ...
In this role, you will help us build high-performance products that bridge the gap between guests and properties, taking the global guest experience to the next level. Our projects tackle complex backend challenges at scale, from engineering seamless, frictionless check-in flows to architecting robust, omni-channel messaging platforms. You will work with a passionate, distributed team, where you will have the autonomy to directly drive the innovation, reliability, and quality of our core solutions.
What you'll do...
Refining and delivering product requirements with minimal support
Collaborating with a cross-functional distributed team in an agile methodology
Participating in release and sprint planning
Writing clean, well organised code while making appropriate trade-offs between performance, robustness, and extensibility
Leverage cutting-edge AI development tools to accelerate coding, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize your workflow
Working closely with other developers through pair programming, reviewing pull requests, and contributing incremental improvements to code and practices
Designing and maintaining infrastructure as code
What you have...
Strong experience in backend development, with proficiency in Java/Kotlin (mandatory)
Solid understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures and RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with AWS services, including one or more of: EC2, Kinesis, SQS, ElastiCache, Lambda, SES, and S3
Competence with database technologies, such as relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (DynamoDB/Cassandra/MongoDB)
Familiarity with code testability, build pipelines, Docker, and CI/CD systems
Ability and willingness to learn new frameworks and paradigms, backed by a strong natural curiosity
Experience or strong interest in integrating AI coding assistants into your daily development practices
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with product, technology, and delivery teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

- Extensive professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
- Extensive professional experience with Vue.js (Mandatory)
- Experience building and maintaining large scale production web platforms
- Understanding of frontend ecosystem: bundling, linting, testing and releasing code
- Familiarity integrating with REST APIs and GraphQL
- Familiarity with build pipelines and CI/CD systems
