We are building the monitoring and security platform for developers, IT ops teams and business users in the cloud age.
The Role
Build and deliver end-to-end feature flagging and experimentation capabilities, focusing on performant frontend experiences while contributing to backend services, APIs, and data processing. Own features from customer discovery through deployment and iteration, collaborate with product and statistics teams, engage customers, and use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
Summary Generated by Built In

At Datadog, we're building the next generation of feature flagging and experimentation tools, empowering engineering and product teams to ship confidently, measure impact, and make better data-driven decisions.

The Experimentation team operates like a startup within Datadog, combining the agility of a fast-moving product team with the scale and opportunities of a global technology company. Formed by engineers from Eppo, acquired by Datadog in May 2025, and engineers from across Datadog, we're bringing feature flagging and experimentation capabilities directly into the Datadog platform.

With both products recently launched, we're just getting started. We're migrating customers from Eppo to Datadog while delivering an ambitious roadmap of new features and capabilities. Our team combines full-stack engineers who prototype and ship features rapidly with statistics engineers who are pushing the boundaries of what modern experimentation platforms can achieve.

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to help us build intuitive, powerful product experiences. You'll work across the stack, own features from concept to production, collaborate directly with customers, and help shape the future of experimentation at Datadog.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end product features across our feature flagging and experimentation platforms, with a strong focus on frontend development.
  • Build intuitive, performant, and scalable user interfaces that make complex experimentation workflows accessible to customers.
  • Contribute to backend services, APIs, and data processing components that power our products.
  • Take ownership of features throughout their lifecycle, from understanding customer needs and defining solutions to implementation, deployment, and iteration.
  • Work closely with product partners, statistics engineers, and other engineering teams to translate sophisticated experimentation capabilities into practical product experiences.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their challenges, gather feedback, and influence product decisions.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, development, and delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Contribute to a fast-moving, collaborative engineering culture where experimentation, autonomy, and continuous improvement are encouraged.

Who You Are:

  • You have 7+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience building and shipping customer-facing web applications, including ownership of complex features in production.
  • You have deep frontend engineering expertise and are comfortable contributing across the full stack, including backend services and APIs.
  • You have a strong product mindset, with an ability to translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive, effective technical solutions.
  • You can independently drive projects from initial requirements through design, implementation, testing, and release.
  • You understand the trade-offs between performance, scalability, maintainability, and speed of delivery.
  • You enjoy working in fast-paced environments, iterating quickly, and using customer feedback to improve your work.
  • You collaborate effectively across disciplines, communicate technical decisions clearly, and contribute to the growth of engineers around you.
  • You're curious about emerging technologies and comfortable adopting modern AI development tools to improve your engineering workflow.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience developing backend services in Go, or an interest in learning and using Go.
  • Familiarity with feature flagging, A/B testing, experimentation platforms, or statistical concepts.
  • Experience building data-intensive applications or complex analytical user interfaces.
  • Experience developing public APIs or working with modern backend infrastructure.
  • Experience working in startup environments or small, highly autonomous product teams.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or AI-powered development workflows.

Benefits and Growth:

  • High income earning opportunities based on individual performance
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
