Position Description:
Designs and develops RESTful APIs and services for server-side applications using Spring Boot. Designs and develops reusable client-side components using Angular 17 and JavaScript frameworks. Develops applications and system components in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Builds and deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices. Builds applications using AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, EMR, and Cloud Formation. Develops container-based systems by implementing and maintaining orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software applications using modern languages and frameworks (Java, Spring Boot, and Angular).
DE designing and developing efficient and scalable cloud-native applications written on AWS platforms, using Amazon Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).
DE building and deploying REST Web services in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
DE triaging bugs on software applications using Datadog and Splunk; and developing applications by writing or contributing to technical specification documentation.
