Position Description:
Performs Web development and implements microservices, using Java, Springboot, Mybatis, and JSON. Establishes new automation infrastructure, maintains existing automation, and builds reusable tests artifacts to streamline testing process. Performs Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline development using Jenkins and Git. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
- Develops and maintains automated test suites to ensure product quality and release readiness.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing Application Programming Interface (API) and database validation to build secure, scalable, and compliant automation solutions within a health and welfare benefits domain, using Java, RestAssured, and SQL.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing Application Programming Interface (API) and database validation to build secure, scalable, and compliant automation solutions within a health and welfare benefits domain, using Java, RestAssured, and SQL.

- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing and maintaining advanced test automation and framework engineering for RESTful API Web services, using Eclipse, PostgreSQL, programming languages (Java), and frameworks (Spring Boot, Rest Assured, and MyBatis).
- DE performing comprehensive API validation and service assurance across multiple environments, using POSTMAN to verify JSON payload structures, exception handling, and cross-system integrations; parsing custom data JSON structures using Java; analyzing requirements, test cases, defects, and reports, using JIRA-Xray; performing version control using Git Stash; and maintaining release documentation in Confluence and tracking development stories, using JIRA.
- DE performing CI/CD optimization using Jenkins, GIT, and Maven; performing API functional testing and developing automation scripts within the health and welfare benefits environment, using Java, TestNG and Postman; and performing quality assurance testing of software applications with code bases Spring and Java, using Eclipse, PostgreSQL, GIT, and programming languages (Java and JavaScript).
- DE performing database verification, data validation, integrity analysis, and complex SQL queries, using PostgreSQL (DBeaver tool); and writing SQL queries to ensure consistency, support business requirements, and provide quality services to end users, using PostgreSQL database.
