We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in high-pressure environments, excels in distributed systems design, and takes full accountability for the reliability of systems that handle millions of transactions daily.
As an EBANX developer, you will be responsible for:
- System Ownership: Take end-to-end accountability for complex features and core system components, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and resilient.
- High-Throughput Engineering: Architect and maintain Java-based systems with +99.9% availability, optimizing for high throughput and low latency.
- Technical Leadership: Drive the evolution of our engineering culture by leading deep code reviews, mentoring mid-level and junior developers, and setting high standards for documentation and testing.
- Strategic Integration: Collaborate with CloudOps, Product, Fraud, and Regulatory teams to translate complex Central Bank requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Incident Management & Reliability: Lead troubleshooting for critical issues, applying observability and performance tuning to prevent recurrence.
- Innovation for Efficiency: Develop internal tools and frameworks that improve the entire team's productivity and system observability.
What is indispensable for the position?
- Advanced Expertise in Java Stack: Deep knowledge of the Java ecosystem, including advanced Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and JVM tuning.
- Architectural Mastery: Proven experience with Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Distributed Systems architecture.
- Database Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills and experience optimizing relational databases for high-concurrency environments.
- API Design: Extensive experience designing and maintaining mission-critical REST APIs, with a focus on system resilience.
- Cloud & DevOps Culture: Solid experience with Cloud Computing (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Observability: Proficiency in monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, etc) to diagnose bottlenecks in real-time.
- Senior Mindset: The ability to solve ambiguous problems, make technical trade-offs under pressure, and defend technical decisions to stakeholders.
What would be a plus?
- Financial Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Pix/SPI ecosystem and Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN) regulations.
- Global Communication: Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) to collaborate with global stakeholders and document technical specifications for international clients.
