Senior Software Engineer - COBOL
Overview:
The Danish Clearing team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be part of an existing team of 4 other colleagues, with responsibility for both maintenance and development of two critical clearing services.
Role:
In this position, you will
• Collaborate with Product and Business stakeholders to prioritize team initiatives and participate in planning discussions.• Estimate, own, and execute all phases of delivery-including design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation-to fulfill business requirements.• Lead code, design, and process trade-off discussions within the team, ensuring optimal solutions are chosen. • Monitor status, proactively report progress, and manage risks for assigned applications or services.• Drive the integration of services with a strong focus on enhancing customer journey and overall experience.• Mentor and support new or less-experienced team members and promote the adoption of technology standards and best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing.• Take part in the on-call duty activities• Share and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Have a relevant education in IT or relevant experience from previous jobs. • Intermediate experience with COBOL (z / OS, Endevor, JCL, OPC / IWS, Easytrieve)• A solid understanding of SQL on DB2• Have experience with application analysis to resolve issues and seek improvements• Be skilled at explaining technical problems succinctly and clear• Experience with Jira and Kanban/Scrum development methodologies • Speaks and writes fluent English and Danish
Additionally, the following capabilities are preferred:
• Experience with AQT and CA DB2 support tools• Experience in working with sourcing partners and virtual teams.• You communicate professionally and proactively with business and other stakeholders.• You are naturally part of a close team collaboration.• You create commitment and motivation in your colleagues• You work committed and professionally• Intermediate experience with Java
