The opportunity

Polestar is accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility through electric performance. Car Services and Industrial Operations is a newly established area that plays a vital role in Polestar’s business. Our mission is to ensure that Polestar can offer services to customers seamlessly, while giving our service partners the digital tools they need to enhance, maintain, and repair our vehicles.

We support compound operations to ensure cars are properly prepared and delivered to their owners on time. We also collect, analyze, and share data that provides valuable product insights, helping the Quality organization to quickly identify and resolve issues, keeping customers satisfied and reducing quality costs. Product compliance is another cornerstone of our work, ensuring that Polestar’s products meet both new and existing legislation across all markets.

In addition, we support contract manufacturing by enabling downstream processes such as homologation, Certification of Conformity, and warranty handling. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Through smart digital solutions, we contribute to Polestar’s vision of a more sustainable future by making key data accessible across manufacturing, logistics, aftermarket, and sustainability, empowering better decisions, streamlined operations, and an elevated customer experience.

We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Car Services and Industrial Operations to join us at our headquarters in Gothenburg.

Let us describe the challenge we offer

You will join a close‑knit and experienced team, where several of us have worked together for a long time. This has shaped a cohesive group that collaborates seamlessly and supports one another. We are driven by ambition and set high standards for ourselves, while remaining prestige‑free and customer‑focused.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will transform the Car Services and Industrial Operations area’s digital vision into working solutions by building and maintaining digital products, platforms, and services. You will work in close collaboration with Designers, Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Business Analysts to balance technical functionality, end‑user experience, and business value.

You will have a direct influence on how our digital solutions function and how users interact with them. You will also stay on top of the evolving technology landscape and continuously invest in developing your skills.

You will report to the Head of Car Services and Industrial Operations. This position is located at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. We believe in empowerment and offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home a couple of days per week.

What you'll do

You will design, build, and maintain digital solutions that enable Car Services and Industrial Operations to deliver value across Polestar’s ecosystem.

You will:

  • Ensure code follows Polestar’s coding practices and industry standards

  • Write unit and integration tests, and develop automated tests where applicable

  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

  • Maintain close collaboration with Architecture & Analytics to ensure that the latest guidelines and guardrails are followed when developing digital products, platforms, and services

Who you are

You are a patient, resilient, and open individual who excels at communicating and explaining complex technical concepts. You value trust, transparency, and innovation, and you constantly look for ways to improve both solutions and ways of working.

You balance quality with pragmatism, align stakeholders on technical decisions, and connect people to enable efficient collaboration. You are passionate about technology and excited about the impact of emerging technologies, and you are open to learning new ideas beyond your current scope or skill set.

To be a great fit for this position, we believe you have:

  • Strong knowledge of programming and engineering principles

  • Experience building global, high‑performance, and scalable solutions

  • Ability to write effective unit, integration, and other automated tests

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
