AI-assisted development is moving quickly-from Code OSS-based IDEs with telecom-specific tooling to agentic development environments used across the organization. We are building the governance, infrastructure, and developer platforms that make this evolution secure, reusable, and scalable.
As a Software Engineer on the AI Technology Governance and Foundation team, you will help shape the backbone of AI-assisted software development across the organization. You'll build production-grade platforms and guardrails used by hundreds of developers, including internal AI marketplaces, reusable tooling standards, intellectual-property protections, security integrations, and CI/CD governance.
This is a hands-on, foundational engineering role for someone who enjoys turning ambiguous 0-to-1 problems into durable tools, standards, and platforms that teams can confidently adopt.
What you'll do.
Build and evolve foundational tooling for AI-assisted software development.
Develop standards, registries, and reusable components that improve consistency and reduce duplicated effort.
Contribute to AI marketplaces, including integrations for intellectual-property scanning, security, and governance.
Integrate governance and compliance controls into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
Design and implement APIs, tools, and services that connect AI assistants, development environments, and internal platforms.
Help build the next generation of agentic IDEs and Code OSS-based development experiences.
Identify and close gaps related to software reuse, IP protection, security, and responsible AI adoption.
Partner with developers, security teams, platform engineers, and technology leaders to turn organizational needs into practical engineering solutions.
Take ownership of ambiguous requirements and drive solutions from concept and MVP through production adoption.
Measure adoption, usability, reliability, and impact across the developer community.
What you will bring.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including design, testing, maintainability, and operational ownership.
Hands-on experience building or integrating AI- and LLM-based development tools.
Experience designing or integrating APIs, developer tools, plugins, agents, or platform services.
Practical fluency with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
A security-minded engineering approach, including awareness of secure design, access control, data protection, and supply-chain or IP risks.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and technical domains.
A builder's mindset: practical, curious, outcome-oriented, and comfortable making sound decisions with incomplete information.
Experience delivering software that is adopted and used in production-not only prototypes or proofs of concept.

The team can help you build domain knowledge in these areas. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, engineer responsibly, collaborate effectively, and deliver solutions that work at organizational scale.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building foundational infrastructure rather than isolated features.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
