About the teamPayment Client Foundation team owns and operates Adyen's integration with payment methods in store focused on the low-level integration layers, including payment kernels and ensuring compliance with global PCI standards. This is the foundation that keeps payment running for retailers around the globe. In this role, you will drive technical strategy, build a high-performing team, and shape the evolution of our platform as Adyen continues to scale globally.
What you'll doAs a Kotlin Engineer you will work on solutions for our payment terminals featuring many capabilities, such as:
- Accepting payments using credit cards and debit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay on mobile phones or accepting payments through QR codes;
- Communication with the Adyen backend to achieve one platform solution;
You will be working on developing our main business logic in Kotlin, which will be deployed on both Android based terminals and mobile phones.

QualificationsMust haves
- A minimum of 5 years of experience writing code in Kotlin
- A minimum of 8 years of experience building software for the Android platform
- Experience in development of enterprise level SDKs.
- Expert level knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Gradle, Dependency Injection
- Take ownership of features from design and implementation through deployment and maintenance
- A high level of personal accountability and a blend of strong technical skills, creative problem-solving, and a collaborative spirit
- Experience writing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of automated unit and integration tests
- Ability and desire to mentor and grow other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and over-the-shoulder debuggin
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Good to haves
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform for cross-platform development;
- Additional programming knowledge/experience - C/C++, Python
- Card payment (EMV, ISO8583) knowledge
- Experience with building libraries used by other engineers
- Knowledge about security best practices and standards
- Experience working in payment industry
