About the Role:
Are you a Senior Software Engineer seeking a new career step where you can invent? Take a look at our Platform Enterprise team, where you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for the Matterport Platform which serves Billions of requests a month. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives on new challenges, possesses a strong engineering background, and has a drive to invent.
What you will do:
- Design, architect, and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance systems and APIs.
- Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code that adheres to coding standards.
- Lead technical discussions and provide input on design decisions.
- Collaborate cross functionally across the group to find technical solutions to complex problems.
- Implement best practices for code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Optimize the systems for performance, reliability, and security.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficiency with object oriented programming language (e.g., Kotlin, Java, C#).
- Strong understanding of backend frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring, Kafka, Elasticsearch,GraphQL/REST).
- Experience designing and implementing APIs and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Bonus points: Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Bonus points: Solid understanding of NoSql database (e.g. FoundationDB, CouchDB)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
