JOB TITLE: Senior Software Development Engineer (Job Code: SM0723)
JOB DETAILS:
Spearhead the architectural design and implementation of sophisticated, high-performance WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, and LE audio connectivity platforms for next-generation products. Design new connectivity features and maximize the potential of existing technologies. Debug complex low-level problems that may span interfaces between hardware and software. Demonstrate understanding and awareness of modern embedded software development processes, including design, implementation, unit testing, continuous integration, version control etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and application developers, to influence system specifications and ensure seamless integration. Leverage expert-level knowledge of RF and over-the-air protocol analyzers to diagnose and resolve complex wireless interoperability challenges. Design APIs and large systems taking into account maintainability, security, performance and scalability. Optimize and refactor firmware for maximum efficiency and power consumption on custom silicon platforms. Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in the embedded software lifecycle, including robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and rigorous version control.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field plus 3 years of experience in the offered position or related position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:
- Experience with Bluetooth Classic and BLE stack/profiles, including A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and LE Audio.
- Experience and understanding with various audio codecs (LC3, AAC and SBC).
- Experience developing on embedded platforms for consumer electronics.
- Experience with interrupt-driven programming, as well as with latency optimization and preventing buffer underruns.
- Knowledge of fixed-point arithmetic.
- Ability to manage synchronization, queues, timers, and low-power states.
- Experience with high-speed communication protocols which include I2C, SPI, UART, USB, BLE and Wi-Fi.
- Experience with debugging interfaces and tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers).
- Experience leading technical projects or mentoring a small team of engineers.
- Understanding of security principles (cryptography, secure communication, secure boot, and key storage).
- Proficiency with version control (Git), project tracking (Jira) and CI/CD pipelines for firmware development.
OTHER: Salary range: $112,694 per year to $120,000 per year.
