The Role

Job Description
Our Identity Security Cloud organization is looking for a well-rounded Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a focus on backend development. A successful SDET should have excellent development and QA skills, experience writing automation tests, creating extensive test automation cases, and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. We are looking for someone capable of driving several projects to completion from a QA perspective and a skilled technician that can also serve as a mentor to team. Responsibilities include building test automation, designing automation testing best practices, quality standards & processes, manual testing of UI on web applications, assisting engineers in creation of automation tests, and maintaining healthy automation testing pipelines. We are looking for a visionary that delivers recommendations on how to evolve testing best practices within the organization that solve today’s problems with the future direction of product testing in mind.


Responsibilities:

  • Developing, promoting, and maintaining quality standards and quality control systems.
  • Develop test automation framework that caters to the need of development team, in areas of UI Automation using Cypress
  • Collaborating with UI developers and engineering managers to develop best practices for automation testing.
  • Monitoring and analyzing quality performance and the health of our automation testing pipeline.
  • Assisting developers with testing issues and improving the team’s knowledge in automation testing.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of testing environments.
  • Proactively help improve quality methodologies within the organization to increase efficiency and work with other QA resources to form best practices for how to test our products.
  • Assisting in manual verification of full feature testing and ensuring quality across all supported devices.
  • Assist in optimizing workflows and processes used in our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Reviewing code, specifications, and processes related to testing.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Participate in planning sessions to gain knowledge of how to best create test plans for solutions designed.
  • *This is a Pune, India based role. We work in a hybrid model in office 3 days a week. You will be part of a global team working closely with engineers in the US. Must be willing to work at least 4 overlapping hours with US time zone. *

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering.
  • Must have hands-on experience of 3+ years in developing code in:TypeScript/JavaScript using Cypress.
  • Experience in developing Test Automation Framework with tools like Pact, Postman, Cypress.
  • Experience writing test cases for manual verification of web applications.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Cloudbees and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with AWS and testing SaaS applications
  • Familiarity with SQL and NonSQL data stores.
  • Must have previous experience with requirements, defect, functional, and performance management systems.
  • Self-starter familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience planning and executing multi-sprint tasks with experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Gain complete understanding of the product
  • Independence and autonomy in managing their roles and responsibility
  • Accountable for their work, encourage them to accomplish projects on their own with limited guidance
