About the role 

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Software Backend Developer to join our R&D team and contribute to the transformation of our platform and products. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled developer with a passion for back-end technologies and modern software engineering practices in the fitness industry. As part of our team, you'll work alongside talented engineers and senior leaders to optimize and build upon our platform strategy. 

What you’ll do 

  • Develop and maintain back-end solutions, working with both back-end technologies to deliver high-quality features and services. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design) to define technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for key products and platform enhancements. 

  • Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and post-launch monitoring. 

  • Develop and optimize back-end systems using a diverse technology stack, such as GoLang, PHP, MongoDB, MySQL. 

  • Design API following RESTful standards and using OpenAPI specification. 

  • Implement scalable and maintainable code that follows best practices in secure coding, testing, and performance optimization. 

  • Utilize Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) to design, implement, and deploy solutions that are scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient. 

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify and implement software engineering best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and security requirements. 

  • Lead by example in adopting agile practices, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to foster a collaborative and efficient development environment. 

  • Mentor junior developers, sharing expertise and providing coaching to help grow the team's capabilities and support their career progression. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, applying both depth of knowledge and creative problem-solving approaches. 

  • Engage in continuous learning, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies, and contributing to the innovation of the team and the broader engineering organization. 

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 

  • 5 to 9 years of relevant software development experience, with expertise in back-end development. 

  • Mandatory experience with Golang.
    Experience on PHP
    and related frameworks (Laravel, Symfony) is highly preferred.
     

  • Strong proficiency in Cloud technologies, particularly AWS or Azure, with hands-on experience building cloud-native applications. 

  • Experience working with modern web technologies and building scalable RESTful APIs. 

  • Experience working with high load projects. 

  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, containers (Docker), and container orchestration. 

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, ensuring secure coding and operations in the software development lifecycle. 

  • Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on building maintainable and efficient software solutions. 

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Passion for continuous improvement and a growth mindset, eager to learn and mentor others. 

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

It’s great to have 

  • Experience with Front-end technologies and Frameworks. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools. 

  • Experience in the fitness or health tech industry or building solutions for large-scale user bases. 

  • Knowledge of application security principles and techniques, including secure coding and penetration testing. 

  • Leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members. 

  • Experience contributing to the professional community as a speaker, author or online contributor.
