Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Math, Science or related degree
- Experience in software used productively by consumers or companies
Experience/ Skills and Knowledge
- 4+ yrs of relevant experience.
- JVM based languages like Scala, Java etc.
- Experience in troubleshooting Application data tier (e.g., web services, threading, etc.)
- Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL is required.
- Good grasp in SQL and querying skills with knowledge of SQL performance tuning.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Redis is preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Ability to accurately estimate level of effort and provide development estimates.
- Be able to explain what type of problems and algorithms you have worked on, which layer and frameworks you enjoy working on (and code with), and areas you want to learn more.
- Attention to detail, a drive to produce quality code, and excellent communication skills with other developers and product managers alike are essential.
- The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to work independently and creatively under minimal supervision.
