As a Senior Software Developer, your work will focus on delivering new features and capabilities, which delivers value to the business. You will join a highly skilled team and work closely with a development manager and a technical architect to design, develop, and deliver these features. You will work in a fast-paced environment but with full support and additional resources and opportunities with our Trans-Tasman IT team. Your teammates will rely upon you to insist on the highest standards for iterative software development and to help them develop their own potential. Your skills and career will grow with exposure to new technologies, interesting engineering challenges, influential customers, and ever-expanding scale.

You'll be an integral and crucial part of the team, ensuring that good UI standards are maintained while also looking for opportunities to apply some creative genius.

This will include:

• Participating in the analysis, design, development and support of a variety of nib’s applications.
• Applying product and design thinking when developing solutions, utilising best practices such as continuous delivery to rapidly solve technical challenges and deliver incremental value to members.
• Promoting software development best practice so that nib has a healthy return on investment through software solutions that are cost effective, innovative and fit for purpose. 

About you Ko Wai Koe

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least 3 years commercial experience developing modern web-based software solution.
• Experience in cloud friendly languages (Node.JS, C#)
• Experience with JavaScript (React, Redux, NodeJS)
• Experience with modern CSS language features including responsive web design, SASS, Less
• A good understanding with DevOps practices, microservices architectures, CI/CD, and cloud environments such as AWS.
• Knowledge and experience in wide variety of technologies including but not limited to Amazon Lex, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, OAuth and database and data streaming technologies.
• Knowledge and experience with databases, specifically DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
• Are comfortable with lean and experimental approaches including rapid prototyping with a focus on customer service and human centred design.

While we primarily use React we also have footprints in other technologies or frameworks, so if you have experience in some of those other areas then definitely get in touch.
