ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Builds efficient back-end features in Java/Python & SQL (primarily PostgresSQL).
- Builds and maintains APIs.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements changes to new and existing software applications.
- Ensures quality and controls are in place, managing escalations, and developing and recommending solutions.
- Participates in design and codes small to large software applications as part of a team.
- Resolves complex software issues across multiple software applications and platforms.
- Communicates and presents software to the team, management, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology or related field.
- Employer will accept as a foreign equivalent a 3-year Bachelor’s degree plus a 3-year Master of Computer Applications degree.
- 5 years of experience as a Senior Software Developer, Developer, Software Engineer, or similar duties under a different job title.
- 5 years of experience with: writing in Python with one or more of the following libraries: JSON, CSV, OS, requests, sys, psycopg2, lxml, pytest, ConfigParser, and/or Argparser; Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Web Application and Web Services; developing and managing APIs with Java, Rest, SOAP, and Python; writing code that interacts with relational databases using Postgres, Oracle, or MS SQL Server; MS Orchestration or Control-M; Splunk/ELK stack, Grafana, or OpsGenie; AWS; Agile; and Policy System Administration.
