We currently have an opening for a Senior Software Architect at our Pleasanton, CA location. For our global Mobile Software Development Teams, located in the US, Europe, and Mexico, we are seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of our mobile robotics software platforms. This role is responsible for defining architectural standards, guiding development teams, and ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with business strategy. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
- Architect and design end-to-end software solutions that meet business, regulatory, and performance requirements.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, coding practices, and design patterns across teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (product, compliance, security, operations) to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
- Ability to perform cost benefit analysis, business case development, and financial justification.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and distributed systems.
- Lead technical decision-making for cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to improve resilience, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience with secure coding practices, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies for cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Preferred: experience with motion and robotics, real-time operating systems and event-driven architecture

The annual salary range for this role in California is $180,000 - $230,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
