We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! As a Senior Software Architect, you will be responsible for designing the software architecture of our autonomous air defense systems, turning guidance, navigation, and control algorithms into robust, production-grade software that runs reliably on real hardware in mission-critical environments

• Own the software architecture of our autonomous systems, defining how components, modules, and onboard software fit together from sensor input to effector output

• Take algorithms developed by our GNC and autonomy specialists and embed them into robust, real-time capable software built on ROS 2, C++, and Python

• Define interfaces, module boundaries, and architectural standards so embedded, GNC, and ground system teams can build, integrate, and evolve safely

• Drive quality from design to delivery, through testing, integration, and deployment on hardware, and raise engineering standards through design reviews, code review, and mentoring (including occasional lab or field support)

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years of professional software development.

• Proven experience designing and owning complex software architectures, from system decomposition to interface and module design

• Strong C++ skills for performance-critical and real-time software

• Strong Python skills for integration, tooling, and prototyping

• Hands-on experience with ROS 2 (nodes, topics, services, actions) and building robotic software on top of it

• Solid Linux experience, including development, debugging, and deployment on Linux-based systems

• Experience integrating algorithms from domain experts (e.g. control, estimation, perception) into maintainable production software. You won't design the algorithms, you'll make them run reliably

• Strong software craftsmanship: clear architectural documentation, testing, code review, and the ability to explain technical decisions to engineers across disciplines.

• Ownership mindset, you take responsibility for the architecture end to end and follow problems across component boundaries until they're solved

• Experience with software delivery: build systems, packaging, release management, and deployment to target hardware

• Familiarity with MAVLink, PX4, ArduPilot, or similar vehicle/autopilot frameworks

• Prior work in robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, defense, or industrial control software

• Build technology with real operational impact: Develop autonomous defence systems designed to protect lives and strengthen Europe’s security

• Shape scalable defence capabilities: Work on solutions built for mass deployment, cost efficiency, resilience, and reliable production at scale

• Contribute to networked air defence: Help integrate our systems into multi-layered defence architectures alongside sensors, command systems, and effectors

• Develop for real-world operations: Build capabilities together with end users and improve them continuously based on direct operational feedback

• Move fast and take ownership: Work in a focused, high-performance team where decisions are made quickly and individual contributions have immediate impact
