As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will help us manage software that runs on the cloud and remotely manages millions of radio devices. You will work on a team and be a main point of contact during off shore hours and responsible for all aspects of cloud operations, such as:
- Infrastructure as Code
- Manage environments in AWS
- Monitoring and alerting
- Automation for scaling, failure recovery, disaster recovery
- Non-disruptive upgrades and rollbacks, etc.
The job is based in Milpitas, and this job profile will require in-person presence in the office 3-4 days a week to interact with team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage development, test, staging, and production AWS environments
- Set up and manage Kubernetes and Istio-based clusters for deploying applications
- Set up and manage other services needed by the application (e.g. AWS Kafka, ElasticSearch, Redis, RDS databases, etc.)
- Automate the monitoring and auto-scaling of the production environment, to support millions of connected devices
- Monitoring of all live systems
- Troubleshoot and triage production active issues
Required Skills and Experience:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering -- or equivalent experience in those fields
- Strong Linux administration experience
- 5 - 12 years hands-on experience in AWS
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- A desire to learn new technologies and to solve hard problems
You should have strong experience with the skills below:
- AWS
- Terraform
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Kubernetes / Istio
- Microservice architecture
- Helm charts for deployment
- Exposure in deploying and managing various other technologies, such as:
EFK Stack
Databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL
Apache Kafka clusters
Redis caches
Monitoring and Alerting using Prometheus & Grafana
The salary range for this position is: $130,000 to $175,000
Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to: skill set, years of experience and the employee’s geographic location.
